Fossils

This week at school, we learned about fossils. There are many kinds of fossils. One of the most common fossils found is called a trilobite. Here is what it looked like:

It lived in every part of the oceans.

To make a fossil the conditions have to be just right. The skin, muscles and organs all rot away. The bones are covered in mud or sand. It turns into sedimentary rock.

P.S. Nobody knows why the dinosaurs died out.

What did you do that was fun today?

  2. Thanks for the comment, Carly. Have you ever been to a dinosaur museum before? I have seen dinosaur bones at the Natural History Museum in Washington DC and at Fernbank in Atlanta. I also have a trilobite fossil in my bedroom.
