The Oregon Trail

This week in school I went on the "Oregon Trail".  It wasn't really the Oregon Trail.  It was just Settles Bridge Park.  Part of the 4th grade went.  Our class was divided into families.  We made wagons with covers on them.  We untwisted clothes hangers, bent them, and then duck taped them to the wagons.  After that we put a bed sheet over them to make a cover.  I got a full workout on the trail.  I hauled the wagon the whole time.  It was tiring.  We got down to the river, ate lunch, and headed back up the trail.

What did you do that was fun this week?

  1. Dear Max,

Wow you were on the "Oregon Trail" and built a covered wagon! You've had a busy week! Your family trips to PA are a whole lot easier than the those of the settlers on the Oregon Trail aren't they? Papa Ray and I will be in Oregon in about 2 weeks and I will look for information about the Oregon Trail.

We are visiting tall trees again this week. We are in Northern California and are going to see the redwood trees. Guess what's going to be on your postcard this week??

    Love,

    Nana (Papa Ray too)

    1. Nana,
What is the next place you are going? I know what is going to be on my next post card, REDWOOD TREES! I hope you have a great time in CA.

  2. Max,

We are leaving California on Friday (5/18) and headed to Oregon and Crater Lake. Have you learned anything about Crater Lake in your Geography class? When I look up on line about the weather in the area of Crater Lake it says they have 90" of snow on the ground. Guess I better get out my snow gear again!

How many more school days are left?

    Love,

    Nana
