Today we saw eight bears. One of them was a grizzly bear walking on the rode! It was ten feet away! Earlier in the day we saw a black bear being all peaceful but when he saw all the people he jumped up and zoomed across the street. After that we saw a coyote. We were whistling a lot to get its attention but it wasn't like a dog - he just ignored us.
We were coming home on Thursday when we saw a bison by a restaurant eating grass which was really funny. Now we just have to see a moose to complete our list of animals we'd like to see.
We have seen tols of elk but we only saw one bull (male elk). It had huge antlers. Also while we were riding horses the other day we saw some marmoths enjoying the sun while resting on a rock. We also saw a family of weasels.
Hi Max!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an awesome time at Yellowstone! What an adventurous vacation you had. What was it like to go whitewater rafting? I have always wanted to try that, but Papa Ray doesn't like cold water.
Papa Ray & I can't wait to get to Yellowstone and see some of the things you and the rest of your crew saw! We saw some of the same animals you did up here in Alaska, but from a much greater distance.
We went fishing today out on Prince William Sound with your great Uncle John and lucky you will get to eat some of the fish I caught. We are sending 10 pounds of Halibut to you, Dad & Miss Cindy.
While we were fishing we saw at least 8 different humpback whales swimming near our boat. What a tremendous sight! Papa Ray saw one breach.
I am so happy you had a good time in Yellowstone!
Love & miss you very much,
Nana
Nana.White Water Rafting at Yellowstone was really fun. The rafting looked a lot rougher than it really was. Remember go out at 4:00 to see all the animals
