The First Week of School

This week was the first week of school.  I'm liking 5th grade a lot.  We had to take a lot of tests this week.  Otherwise I had fun.

Also this week I went to see Ice Age.  The movie was ok.

What did you do that was fun this week?

  1. Hi Max!

I'm glad you're liking the 5th grade. That was one of my favorite grade - I had a great 5th grade teacher. Do you have just one teacher or do you have different teachers for some of your subjects.

Papa Ray and I are in Idaho but have been traveling over to Wyoming to visit Grand Tetons National Park. There aren't any geysers, of mud pots or any of the geological stuff that's at Yellowstone, but the mountains sure are pretty.

My fun thing this week was Papa Ray and I went to a local Rodeo. We watched calf roping, bull riding, bronc riding and barrel racing. It was a lot of fun. There were boys there not much older than you riding bulls, bulls that didn't want anyone riding them.

Hope school continues to be fun!

Miss & Love you very much!

    Nana (Papa Ray too).

    1. Hi Nana
I wish I could ride a calf. But there's not a lot of cattle near here. I have ridden on horses before though. Have you ever ridden a horse before? I think it is a lot of fun. It can get boring at times. If I were to ride a bull, I would have a broken arm in a snap. I don't want to be spending half of my life with every bone in my body broken. That wouldn't be fun at all.Would you become a bull rider if you were younger?

    2. Hi Max,

I've ridden horses before, but it's been a very long time. When I was growing up we lived in the country and many of my friends had horses that we rode.

I'm not sure I would like to ride a bull. They buck pretty bad and they are usually pretty ornery. When Papa Ray and I first started our RV traveling we went to a bull riding contest in Red Rock, New Mexico and one of the bulls tried to climb the wall into the stands right where we were sitting. Pretty scary they are BIG.

You take care - have a great week at school filled with lots of fun!

      Love,

      Nana
